The Welcome Mat

I got some cash, a book, a few frames for some Uncle Scrooge prints that I bought last year and little things like peanut m&ms and pistachios. Plus my mom made me chocolate chip cookies.

My mom is also treating me to the hockey game on Saturday.

How was the hockey game?

It was fun. It was close throughout the game. LA went ahead 2-1 with a minute or two to play. The Wings tied it on a freak goal with less than 30 seconds left and then won the game in a shootout after a scoreless overtime.

I thought about taking the day off from school, but I was just out last week for a conference and the semester ends in 2 weeks, so I figured I'd better go. Hopefully it will be a good day.

I'm going over to my mom's house this afternoon and we are going to go see the movie Hidden Figures. After that we'll have dinner at Red Robin and go to the Red Wings game. They haven't been doing too well this year, but it should still be fun.

The Red Wings game was fun and they won 6-3. We also got to see a bit of the auto show while we were down there. Hidden Figures was sold out so we went this afternoon. It was sold out again, but we bought tickets in advance so we were fine.

I'm going over to my mom's house in the afternoon and we're going to see The Post, grab some dinner and then open presents and have a Bill Knapp's cake.

After that, I"m going to help her take down her Christmas tree and decorations. I'm glad to have Monday off.

Happy Birthday Kurt! first bd being retired?

My first birthday being retired was pretty good. I went down to Ohio with my mom and had lunch with my aunts. We were going to do that a week or so ago, but it had to be postponed so I figured we'd just do it on my birthday. I ended up getting an Uncle Scrooge tshirt, food, money and an Amazon fire stick. All in all a pretty good birthday.
