I heard about this. It looks somewhat interesting, but I agree. I wish John Doe was still on the air.

I have most of them and I think the quality might be pretty bad being vcd. There are some sites selling dvd's of the series

I think Prison Break looks like it could be cool. I never saw John Doe though.

John Doe was a great show. It was about a guy who wakes up with no personal knowledge of who he is, but seems to know _everything_ else in terms of information. He sees in black and white, but occasionally sees somebody or something in color. The things he sees in color are tied to his past which he tries to discover. It ended on a cliffhanger which was never resolved, though the secret behind his memory was eventually published in an interview.

Dave and I both enjoyed it while it was running.

Unfortunately, there are still a number of series that are not generally available on dvd

Paper Chase - one of my favorite series from Showtime

Robin of Sherwood - another Showtime favorite. This one is actually available on dvd from a company in England (but in region 1 format) and the series sells for 100 pounds which is a lot for a 26 episode series.
