A BOX IN MY ROOM

Inside my room, a large box hides.
When I open it, the contents spill over the side.
It's full of letters and pictures from when our love was still new.
Some saying sweet things, about how our love was so true.
That box collects dust now; for no more letters do I get.
Since our love is sealed, our fate has been set.
Sometimes I wonder, what would be different if you weren't here.
But I also know that would be my greatest fear.
I know you love me, though sometimes I forget.
A reminder from you is always my best bet.
I hope we are together forever, as long as we live.
I will love you with all of my heart, as much as I can give.
I will try to be your everything, your best, and your all.
I promise to always pick you up whenever you fall.
I hope you will do the same for me, as I will for you.
Will you be there for me? WIll you be true?
We have had some hard times, no hiding this.
But we have always made up, and sealed it with a kiss.
I know things won't always be a fairy tale.
The only thing I pray is that you won't fail.
The box inside my room is a symbol.
OF what our love sometimes resembles.
Spilling over, full and true
Yet untouched, sad and blue.
So dust it off, look inside within.
Realize how neglected our love has been.
