I believe that the judge issued a stay which allows Sony to keep selling the PS2 units pending their expected appeal.

Yeah but they still owe 90 million dollars to Immersion Corp. for alleged patent infringement. WoW. Beaucoup bucks.

Okay, I read it. And it says pretty much the same thing I heard on the news earlier today which was why I didn't read it in the first place. Yes, I did notice that it mentions the stay early in the article

Wait it says a stay is ordered and then says that Sony can continue importing and selling the Ps2s while the appeal is pending. It also says that if Sony is found guilty then it has to pay the beaucoup bucks and work out a royalty agreement.

So you can still buy them.

Hey patents are tricky things. You never know. Maybe Sony just didn't cover their asses properly when they used that vibration chip in the hand sets, if that's true, then they should get a better lawyer.

there is a group that patented selling items online or something like that and they have been suing online retailers over it, what gave them the right to patent that and what was the patent office thinking when they gave them that patent. i think thats why im pissed, people seem to be able to patent anything and that gets to me :(

I agree it's a fishy concept. Getting a patent shouldn't be that easy. I agree! :(
