- Toys in the Attic (2009) - 8/10 - What if Toy Story was fairly dark and done with stop motion? We get a pretty good sense of the answer with this film. It was a bit weird, but I liked it.
- Born to Kill (1947) - 5.5/10 - Sam Wilde (Lawrence Tierney) is a killer who gets what he wants and doesn't like anyone trying to take what is his, including his girlfriend. He becomes involved with Helen Brent (Claire Trevor) after murdering his girlfriend and her other boyfriend. I didn't really enjoy this one.
- Kansas City Confidential (1952) - 8/10 - Joe Rolfe (John Payne) is an ex-con who gets framed for a robbery that netted over a million dollars. He's questioned and roughed up by the police before being let go. He decides to solve the case himself and track down the people who framed him. This one was much more up my alley.
- Phantom Lady (1944) - 7.5/10 - Scott Henderson (Alan Curtis) goes to a bar after a fight with his wife and ends up going to a show with a mysterious woman who seems to have troubles of her own. Henderson's wife was murdered while he was out and no one seems to remember the woman that he was with. Ella Raines does a nice job as Henderson's secretary who is convinced of his innocence.
- Road House (1948) - 7/10 - A night club owner (Richard Widmark) hires a singer/piano player (Ida Lupino). He falls for her, but she falls for the manager of the club (Cornel Wilde). Widmark makes a pretty good villain.
- The Blue Gardenia (1953) - 7/10 - Norah (Anne Baxter) is upset when she learns that her boyfriend is going to marry somebody else. She goes out on a date with a guy, gets drunk and passes out, waking the next morning to find him dead. It becomes a big newspaper story in addition to a police investigation. This was good, though it did seem a bit tame.
- The Prowler (1951) - 6/10 - A woman (Evelyn Hayes) reports a prowler outside of her home. One of the policemen who responds (Van Heflin) takes an interest in her and arranges to see her again even though she is married. Van Heflin gives a good performance, but I didn't really buy their relationship.
- Where Danger Lives (1950) - 5.5/10 - A doctor looks in on a mentally unstable patient who might be suicidal and ends up falling for her and her lies. Robert Mitchum gave a decent performance, but I was pretty bored with the film.
