Movies
I just watched Pom Poko, a Studio Ghibli film. I've enjoyed most Ghibli films, but I found this one to be pretty boring. The artwork was fine, but the characters and story didn't get me very interested for some reason. It's about raccoons using their powers of transformation to battle the encroaching human subdivisions with limited success.

I watched The Sentinel today and thought it was good. The first hour of the movie was very good, but the ending seemed a bit condensed and would have been better if they'd spread it out over another 20-30 minutes.
I also watched Oldboy which was good, but different in terms of pacing and style from what I'm used to. Seeing that it is a Korean movie adaptation of a Japanese manga, I'd say that this is understandable. The movie is about a man who is imprisoned for 15 years for no apparent reason. When he is suddenly released, he decides to take revenge on his captors, though he has to find out who they are and why they held him first. The guy who played Oh Dae Su was good and I also liked the actress who played Mi-Do.

I just watched Something New, a romantic comedy about a successful black woman (Sanaa Lathan) who is about to be made partner in her firm. She's kind of uptight and controlling, but learns to relax and enjoy life a bit more when she starts a relationship with a landscaper (Simon Baker), who happens to be white. I liked the movie a lot and think both Lathan and Baker did a great job. Lathan is very attractive and talented. It was nice seeing Donald Faison in the movie as well.

I watched a couple of movies today:
The Good Girl with Jennifer Aniston was kind of depressing. She's a clerk at "Retail Rodeo" who falls for a younger guy, even though she's married. I didn't like the movie very much.
The Bad News Bears Go To Japan - The first movie in the series is a classic. The second movie is still pretty good. The third movie almost never gets shown on television and it was easy to see why. I liked it better than The Good Girl, but this was obviously just an attempt to try and cash in on the franchise.
