Oh and I'm going to see Constantine tomorrow!
I hope you enjoy it. I thought it was a very good movie.
I'm sure I will because I'm not expecting Keanu to be the John Constantine I know from Hellblazer. I'm going to see it because I hear the effects and story are worth it.
I've heard the portrayal of hell is done really well.

yes, it is very hellish :P

I think Keanu did a good job in the role, even if he wasn't the comic book Constantine

Wow well that was much better than I expected. Very cool movie.
The only bit that was WAY out of character was the very end. I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone so I'm not telling what it was.
Otherwise, I was really pretty impressed and glad I went to see it although I'd like to see it again right away because I have the feeling I wasn't clear on a few scenes. That's why DVDs rock! 8)

I left during the credits so I missed the bonus scene, but I heard about it. I'll catch it on the dvd

Well, the comic book Constantine is blond and British. Those are the two major differences. I think the comic book incarnation is a bit more of a bastard and more foul mouthed as well. Keanu's version was good, though.

Absolutely agree with this. Aside from the obvious first two differences,
Keanu comes across a little too clean , but he does a damn good job considering and I think marketing-wise it was probably a good decision.
The original Constantine is almost an X rated character.

AGH NO !!! He would have butchered it, unless it was supposed to be a comedy!
Actually I read that Keanu refused to because he knew he couldn't pull it off.
Something about what a lousy job he did in Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Well I saw Elektra on Monday. It wasn't bad but it was much more of a drama than I expected it to be. I may be spoiled by Constantine and the Spider-man films because my first reaction was that it was a very simple story and I'm used to characters with alot of dimension. There's only one small plot twist so it's very linear and it reminded me a little of Mortal Combat without the kick-ass soundtrack.
The art direction and special effects were all cool and it's a feel good story so I felt justified in spending the money.
Jennifer Garner sure is a beautiful woman so anyone who is her fan would be very happy with this movie.

I saw the movie Robots today. I thought it was harmless fun. It wasn't a great movie, but was very enjoyable and had a lot of funny moments and is worth checking out. There was a short film before the movie which serves as a prelude for Ice Age 2 which is coming out (either to the theater or dvd) eventually.

There were a number of previews before the movie, including:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - looked somewhat interesting, but not as good as the original

Star Wars - where can I buy my ticket?

Fever Pitch - It's got Drew Barrymore and baseball and looks like fun

Herbie Fully Loaded - It's a Herbie movie for gosh sakes. Might be okay as a rental.

Kicking and Screaming - It's got Mike Ditka and Will Ferrell but looks stupid

Madagascar - Looks like it might be fun

I also saw the preview for Madagascar but that would be a rental for me. The Drew Barrymore movie definitely looks like fun. I heard that they had to change the ending because the Red Soxs won.

I watched the movie Paycheck with Ben Affleck a couple of weeks ago and thought it was funny how he emerges from his job, returns to his life and prepares to watch the Red Sox in the playoffs and then gets a note from a friend which tells him they lost again. It obviously didn't take place in 2004 :-)
