It's true! And I just bought one! My life will only get better now that I have The Lantern of Green.
I just hope I don't turn into parallax.

I bought the trade paperbacks for volume 1 and 2 and it was a great read. The books are like 8$ each and cover five issues of the comic.
The art and the story are so cool. I recommend them even if you aren't usually a comic book fan.
i believe you me and kurt are the only comic collector/readers here
thats true im more of a spiritual reader and a healing recovery reader a course in miricals bible and big book studier i do not read much else but i do read for an hour or more everyday

Volume 1 of Runaways ended with #18, but Volume 2 #1 should be out fairly soon. I agreee that it is a pretty cool book. I've been reading comics since 1977 and have a massive collection. Working part time at a comics shop certainly helps. I go to the Chicago ComicCon every year and buy tons of books.

I also read regular books and average around 10 per month. I just finished rereading the Protector of the Small series (First Test, Page, Squire, and Lady Knight) by Tamora Pierce. She is a very good author and writes really good fantasy novels. I'm now reading the revised version of Deryni Rising by Katherine Kurtz.

I didn't know there was one book for Volume 1.
I'm working on the TPBS, and I've only read part 1 and 2 from Volume one. So you're saying part three of Volume one is out already?

Thanks so much for talking about those books. The Protector of the Small Series sounds worth looking into. I always love to hear about writers I've never read.

I only read the comic in its regular format which ended at issue #18. The third trade paperback which collects issues 13-18 is scheduled to come out on Wednesday and the new Runaways series should be starting up in the next week or two as well with a new #1 issue.

Tamora Pierce has written a lot of books for young readers, but they are good fantasy stories so they work for older readers as well. She has also written two other quartets in the 'Tortall' universe - the Alanna series and the Immortals series - as well as a two book set (Trickster's Choice and Trickster's Queen) which are excellent. She has another universe, the 'Circle' universe, which has 8 more books. If you like fantasy, then these are definitely worth checking out, though you might want to start with the first book, Alanna the First Adventure, and work your way up.

Thank you both of you!!!
I've never heard of either of those writers and look out Amazon here I come.
Also thanks for the heads up on the third TPB of the Runaways. I'll hope to see it at my online comics store tomorrow.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that cries while reading.

As far as fantasy, I'm reading the Harry Potter books at the moment I'm on book four and I have 5 waiting...so I guess books written for younger people don't bother me.
