This pisses me off

But then again alot of things do. I had to send my tivo back for replacement and they charged me $49 :( yet here we go

I'm not sure I understand exactly which part pissed you off?
The price after rebates or the free shipping?
Or the one year replacement plan?

they made me pay $49 for me to have mine switched out for a refurbished tivo. Now there is a brand new tivo on amazon for $49, how would you feel?

Yes, having to pay the full retail cost of a new unit in order to get yours replaced with a refurb is justifiably aggrivating - as is the timing of your discovery. You have every right to be a tad PO'ed.

Sorry I just presumed you had the one year replacement plan ..and that it involved a new one for 49$

I DID!!!! and for them to switch it out they charged me $49 it was still under warrentee
