That sounds right up my alley. So I take it this is season 2 of Carnivale? Also what network is it on? It's on Sunday nights I take it?kurt culler wrote:I love Deadwood also. Season 2 is coming in June. I think. Carnivale has some of the same sort of atmosphere as Deadwood. It is fairly dark and takes place during the mid 1930s Dust Bowl era. It is about a traveling carnivale that is struggling to survive. A young man with mysterious powers joins up with the group which is led by a midget who takes orders from the 'management' which is never seen (until the last episode that is), has a bearded lady, a psychic, a fortune teller, etc. There is a parallel story in California about a priest's rise to power. He also seems to have strange abilities. There are a lot of biblical references in the show and it is very entertaining. Season 1 is available on dvdfluffy wrote: I watch Lost and I've heard that Carnivale is a little like Deadwood. Is that true? Because I loved Deadwood.
Television Favorites!
It's on HBO, the same network as Deadwood, Six Feet Under, and Entourage which are other shows that I like. The new season started in January and will probably run 12 episodes, just like season 1 of Carnivale and Deadwood. Since I have On Demand, I'm able to watch the episodes whenever I want, but they first air at 9pm on Sunday nights.fluffy wrote:That sounds right up my alley. Oh well, maybe it was just one of those "Windows" things that we mac users don't generally have to worry about (we have our own issues as Dave will be happy to expound upon whilst we ignore him).
