I had the same issue with 1and1. I moved over some of my stuff to HostGator, but I'm about to move it all over to Site5 in the near future. (Both are resellers of the company Ali works for, Site5 has more going for them then HostGator, though.)

this weekend they moved from php4 to php5 and recompiled the server
