The Dream

I open my eyes in searing sorrow, I wish that it would be tomorrow
Laying on the simple, silk and satin sheet where so often that I dream
Outside the moon was White and Paled, how could I have been so staled
From teary eyes and shimmering gleam, how could I have been so mean
With my face a sickly green, how could I have been so mean
I drifted off into a dream

The drowning deep of purple eyes, stared at me from misty lies
At once I knew who’s eyes they we’re, and why there was a watery seam
Twas nothing more than a ghost with a mask, a memory, long since past
It then began to move at me, was this really all a dream
Why, did it move at me, is this really still a dream
Its face still remained unseen

The face of the beast filled me with fear, but then fell a single tear
I was unsure of why it had, but then I knew that It was keen
Inside the mask was something evil, something I wished I hadn’t known
The mask came off and hit the ground, but inside was only steam
Am I still inside a dream, because inside was only steam
This was all more than it seemed

Like a Xenon, Xylemed Xerox , Tentacles came through the rocks
Roots of old and bark of time, I found it was a tree, strong and lean
An ancient trent of untold wisdom rose before my eyes
As it rose I told myself, this had to be a dream
As it rose I yelled out loud, this has to be a dream
How much more of this tree was there to be seen


Before the tree had reached the top, I was struck by a falling rock
My eyes flew open I sat up straight, I had found there was no fiend
My head rolled over and to my surprise I saw that same pair of eyes
They stared straight into my soul and had that evil gleam
They shined out from the frame with that same evil gleam
From the picture came the gleam

I grabbed the frame in my fist, a feeling came I couldn’t resist
I threw the picture into the wall and cried out with a crazy scream

I found a typo so I fixed it. I really like this and I know this might sound crazy but it occurred to me it might sound great as a song...you know, as lyrics?

Yeah, that was the original version straight off of my computer. I write with little intention of actual purpose. It's up to the reader to decide really. Could be for breaking the picture or causing the "Beast" to cry. "...watery seam..."

Well I had the impression that perhaps it was someone in real life that you were cruel to that made you have the dream with the beast in it and that the beast was the mean side of you.
I really like your details and the romantic imagery.
