Yeah, he plays a character named Lucky Larry I think. Kind of a jerk, but funny.

I watched Proof with Anthony Hopkins and Gwyneth Paltrow. I thought it was very good and not just because I'm a mathematician. A good story with excellent performances by the actors. I wanted to see it in the theater, but it was only in one theater locally and I didn't get a chance.

I also watched
The Legend of Zorro tonight. I thought it was pretty good - campy, but very entertaining.

I saw that. I also thought it was much more campy than the original...verging on a comedy in fact.

I saw Brokeback Mountain and King Kong this weekend.
Brokeback Mountain was a really very sad story and I honestly could hardly believe Heath Ledger was Heath Ledger. It was pretty slow moving and very sad.
King Kong had outrageously fantastic special effects on the Island but again, it has to be one of the saddest stories ever written. Jack Black was really the guy you love to hate. I wish he had died.

I watched The Squid and the Whale today and thought it was okay. I didn't like it as much as I thought I would, though.

Maybe. After reading the blurb and reading people's reactions on VA, I was expecting a bit more. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it.

I'm positive that too much hype ruins movies for me. When people tell me to expect crap, I usually like them more than I thought I would.

A couple of people on the film thread talked about who got killed in XMen 3 and a couple of other major plot points. I suggested they use spoilers. That thread should be a bit more generic, unless the movie has been out for a long time. Keep the spoilers in the XMen 3 thread for now.
