Making an Isometric box

Please take note this is only one way to make a box there are at least to other more common ways to do it (i just like to be different sometimes )

first open your paint program that you use ( I will use ms paint since anyone with windows will have it)


mspaint is locate in start > programs > accessories > paint

Now to make things a bit easier lets zoom in on a section first chose the magnifier



now move over the large white work section you will have a large rectangular box, that box is the are you will zoom into click once on the white area to the right to zoom in

now click on the line tool



after you click on the line tool go back to the work section and click and hold to start the line, them move to another area, you will see how the line will be drawn. Now move it so you will create a line like this

it does not have to be the same length just make sure it’s the same angle


see below how it is 2 pixels then another two pixels below that and so on?




now chose the select box




now below the tools are your tool options you want to choose the lower option





now go over to the right, start the selection box by clicking (and holding) near the top left of the line move the mouse to the lower right side of the line and let go of the button. You should see this




click edit > copy

then

click edit > paste

another line should show up, now


click image > flip/rotate..

chose "flip horizontal" then

click "ok"

it should look like this



now click and hold in the selection box and drag it over to the other line so it looks like this



yes you do want the gap

now select both lines and copy that, but do not paste it yet

chose the line tool and draw a line from just below the gap up (if you hold the shift key down it will help you make sure it is straight)

it should look like this



now chose paste and paste move it so it looks like this




now chose paste again

click image > flip/rotate

select "flip vertical" this time chose "ok"

now move that over to the image so it looks like this (you will have to make the ends overlap?



now at the top where the gap is draw a single pixel then draw two lines on each side and now it should look like this




now you have a box, click the magnify tool and in the tool choice menu (below the tools) click on 1x you should now see your box
